I denne ikoniske musikalfilmen fra regissør Randal Kleiser møter vi en hel haug med morsomme karakter fra Rydell High school med John Travolta og Olivia Newton-John i spissen. Historien begynner sommerferien 1958, vakre og uskyldige Sandy møter kjekke Danny på stranden. De forelsker seg kjapt, men Sandy må dra hjem til Australia og forlater Danny for alltid.
